The Ultra Linux Manifesto
This text was once called “The Future Linux Deserves”.
It was 2020, quarantine, and I was home just thinking about what flavour would be the next.
But damn, you know that feeling that they’re just all the same?
That same feeling when you install a custom ROM on a old android phone, tweak it to the bone but in the end of the day you just want to have a useful phone.
User experience is what I’m talking about. It seems like linux distribution stopped in 2010. I mean, ubuntu 20.04 was released like two months ago and It‘s still boring, man.
Maybe us, the Linux users, are in a loop about the possibility to be superusers. The command line culture is really beautiful and huge, where there is always something new to learn. But we already have professional user interfaces. They’re built to increase work and have beeing among us from a long time, evolving (fast). We’re talking about Augmented Reality and Virtual reality, wearables, watches, smart clothes, IOT in your house or on yous business, drones and of course, Ai.
The point here is that there are two other main computer systems that took the world’s machines, filled with black box proprietary software aka. malware. We have not been educated about our data yet because if you didn’t noticed we’re in the middle of a tech revolution.
But watching new billionaires (200 billion dollars? What the actual fuck?!) growing with my data it’s not a goal I have for my life. Sorry :) Today a bunch of data literally values more than a gram of gold, If you didn’t realized It too. Now you start to realize who does this gold belongs.. TO YOU, DUH.
And you’re giving It away for free like hey let me check my friends new cat photos. Yeah It’s hard times fot the internet.
The lack of new tools and creativity can maybe kill Linux on a dystopian multiverse. But not in this one. That’s why Ultra Linux was born.
Ultra Linux was built to prove that any kid that was born on a far and desert planet can defeat a evil empire.
So what comes next, you may ask? Find out here on my next post.
